Paris
the A B C's of the City of Light
Art/Architecture/Bars/Brasseries/Culture/Cuisine
June
23 to 29, 2008.
Seven days and six nights in the
world capital of art, fashion, food, wine and literature.
Eat great food, embrace
wonderful art and make a book documenting your personal
travel experience.
Los Angeles
based artist and art historian Carol Bishop having spent
years working, living and teaching in Paris now shares her insights and experience
with us.
The city of
Picasso, Chagall, Modigliani, Toulouse-Lautrec
becomes your city as Carol opens our eyes and minds to the
mysteries found in the
Paris
museums and its art.
Pamela Abraham moves us through
the Parisian art displayed in its special gastronomic and
cultural treasures as we cruise the pastry shops, cafes and
bars and special tastings and demonstrations.
Among the Parisian treasures on our
itinerary are the Louvre,
Pompidou
Center,
d’Orsay, the Picasso and Rodin museums and Sainte-Chappelle.
First time as well as long time
visitors to Paris will enjoy Notre Dame, a stroll along the Seine, the
Champs-Elysees and the
Eiffel
Tower.
Garden lovers will delight in
the Aqueduct, Tuileries and
Luxembourg
gardens.
The week’s itinerary is designed
to allow for incorporating unique seasonal opportunities,
such as special exhibitions, performances, markets, fairs or
cultural activities that may be announced.
Whether gathering for cocktails or
dining in a café or restaurant, locations and dishes are
selected that enhance our personal cultural Paris experience.
The active traveler wanting a
different perspective on
Paris
may have the option to join Pamela on an early morning bike
tour or brisk walk while the streets are still somewhat
empty.
Those preferring to squeeze in
another museum may chose to go with Carol.
Most days are sprinkled with
individual time to linger over a new discovery or an old
master, browse in an irresistible boutique or sip
café crème
or Pernod watching
Paris unfold
before your eyes.
At night we return to our warm and
charming 3-star hotel strategically located near the Arc de
Triomphe, in the heart of the city chosen for its typical
Parisian neighborhood offering a variety of bars, cafes and
shops.
